Women Empowerment through Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

TCSRD believes that women play a crucial role in achieving sustainable development, serving as torchbearers for future generations. Despite their equal contributions to family income through agriculture, farm-based activities, and household chores, women often face inequality in recognition. TCSRD is committed to empowering women by encouraging their active participation in economic and social initiatives.

By working  with Gram Technology, NABARD, and the Director Commission Handicrafts (DCH), TCSRD has created livelihood opportunities, supporting ventures such as the Dwarkesh Foods Foundation and Nirantar Group Masala Unit.

Being part of these self-governed SHGs helps the women:

  • Instil a sense of unity and belonging
  • Especially from socially and economically underserved sections
  • Foster an entrepreneurial spirit to unlock true potential
  • With crucial financial support during medical or educational needs

These SHG initiatives will develop a sense of security and independence amongst these women, fostering a wave of women empowerment inspiring several others.
