Biodiversity Conservation

The Mithapur region, renowned for its pristine natural heritage, is a tapestry of wonders that includes coral reefs, lush mangroves, turtle nesting beaches, wetlands, and vibrant bird nesting sites. For more than two decades, TCSRD has been at the forefront of biodiversity conservation in this remarkable area. Our initiatives aim to protect, restore and sustainably utilise India’s coastal and marine biodiversity.

Key conservation projects include:

  • Project “My Greening Hour” – Aiming to plant 1 million trees by 2026.
  • Mangrove Plantation – Restoring and expanding vital coastal ecosystems.
  • Whale Shark Rescue & Release – Safeguarding the world’s largest fish species.
  • Eco Clubs Programme – Educating and involving communities in conservation efforts.
  • Preserving Indigenous Flora – Protecting native plant species and habitats.
  • Coral Reef Restoration – Strengthening marine biodiversity through coral rehabilitation.
