Education Initiatives

Education is a fundamental pillar of a nation’s progress and socio-economic development. Every child  in the age group of 5–14 years has the right to complete formal schooling. Working across rural areas in India, challenges such as high dropout rates, inadequate infrastructure, and outdated teaching methods hinder progress. TCSRD is committed to overcoming these obstacles with a focused goal – achieving ‘zero dropout’ in its operational areas.

Our initiatives focus on:

  • Enrolment – Ensuring every child’s access to education
  • Education Quality – Fostering modern teaching methods
  • Education Continuity – Encouraging full-time education
  • Governance & Engagement – Strengthening institutions through collaborations and community participation

Direct Implementation (TCSRD)

Our education programmes run across multiple locations in India, including Mithapur (Gujarat), Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) and Mambattu (Andhra Pradesh).

Key projects include:

  • National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
  • Science Education through WOW Bus
  • Scholarships for Students
  • Coaching Class for Grade 10th Students
  • Computer Education through WOW Bus
  • Village Learning Classes (VLC) for Primary Students

Early Child Education

TCSRD, in collaboration with the Coastal Salinity Prevention Cell (CSPC), initiated the education programme in 2015 in the Okhamandal taluka of Gujarat’s Dwarka district after finding that it lagged behind other districts in literacy indicators.

With a vision to create a stable and enabling learning environment for the children from Early Child Education till 5th grade, the initiative fosters collaboration between teachers and parents through:

  • Parent meetings and counselling sessions to increase parental involvement
  • Parenting workshops under the Educational Quality Improvement Programme
  • Academic support to Mathematics and Language teachers to ensure best learning practices in the Teacher Learning Material (TLM)
